Who We Are

Mission, Vision & Values

Our Mission

The mission of Pineywoods Paws Animal Rescue is to promote the welfare, protection, and humane treatment of animals throughout Deep East Texas by providing foster-based rescue, adoption services, education, and community outreach under a no-kill philosophy.

Our Vision

A Deep East Texas community where every homeless animal has a path to a safe, permanent home — and where people have the resources and support to be responsible pet owners.

Our Values

No-kill. Transparency. Accountability. We are a 100% volunteer-operated, donor-supported 501(c)(3) organization. Every dollar donated goes toward animal care, not overhead.

How It Started

Why Pineywoods Paws Was Founded

Pineywoods Paws Animal Rescue was founded when a small group of passionate East Texans saw firsthand the heartbreaking reality facing animals in local shelters — overcrowded facilities, limited resources, and animals running out of time.

We made a decision: do something about it. Pineywoods Paws was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs and cats in East Texas. We are in our founding stage, building our foster network, volunteer team, and rescue program from the ground up.

We are just getting started — and with your support, we'll be making a difference for East Texas animals very soon.
